The goal of the Family Care Center is to help young parents identify their strengths, enhance their skills, develop a support system, and eventually become self-sufficient.
Description:
The Family Care Center collaborates with community agencies such as the UK Medical Center, Comprehensive Care, Fayette County Public Schools, and Cardinal Hill Hospital to offer needed services on-site. These services include: medical and dental clinics, high school and GED programs, case management, childcare, transportation, employment, and home visitation.
History:
The Family Care Center opened in October 1989. The Lexington-Fayette County Urban County Government constructed and operates the center. It is funded through local government, state, federal, and private dollars.
