The mission of the Biblioteca Hispanais to provide a multicultural environment where families can have access to educational resources in different languages to promote literacy and to encourage the continuation of the language in order to preserve the culture.
Description:
Our agency is located inside the Cardinal Valley Community Center. We have books for children of any ages in spanish, english and in both languages. We also provide children activities once a month. Usually we have the activity day on the last Thursday of each month. We invite the community to participate with us.
History:
The Biblioteca Hispana was opened on June 2002. It was an idea of our Director Susy Aparicio to put together a Hispanic Library where families could have access to books in their native language. Our parent organization is the Lexington HIspanic Association who is supporting this project and Partner for Youth who is our funding source.
