Founded in 1974, the David School is nestled in the majestic Appalachian mountains in the small community of David, Kentucky. As a faith based, nonprofit school, our mission is to provide a comprehensive educational program for Appalachian high school dropouts and at risk youths who have limited financial resources. Volunteers range from retired educators to college students (at least 21 years old). Volunteer positions are as varied as the people who fill them, ranging from teaching and tutoring to administrative and maintenance. Just tell us what you can offer and we will find a place for you. Our volunteers receive comfortable housing, food, medical coverage, and a modest stipend in a communal living environment. Make a difference in a young student's life. Visit http://www.davidschool.org for more information.
