Have you ever thought of setting aside some time each week or even monthly to volunteer in your local community? If you have but aren't sure where to turn we might be just what you've been waiting for.
The Christian Appalachian Project, an interdenominational, non-profit Christian organization, has been serving families in poverty in Eastern Kentucky for more than 40 years. Some of the areas of service include:
bus monitors, home repair, visiting the elderly, assisting with pre-school, assisting persons with disabilities and much more...
Volunteers must be at least eighteen years of age, flexible, cheerful and enjoy working with people. We will send an application to those who are interested. The application process also includes an interview and an orientation to our mission.

From I-75 South, take exit 62. Turn left at the end of the exit ramp, and follow the road (US-25) 2 miles. The Volunteer Program office is located at the top of the hill on the right-hand side. It is a yellow and brown one-story building (converted motel).
