![]() Best Friends Day Center - Provide companionship to persons with memory loss
At the Best Friends Day Center, volunteers serve as best friends to persons with memory loss. Best friends work under professional supervision and work one-on-one with program participants in a variety of activities designed to bring out the best in the person with memory loss. Some of these activities include music and singing, art expression, group exercises and games, intergenerational activities, and various other therapeutic and reminiscence activities. All volunteers complete an hour-long orientation/training prior to the first volunteer shift. Volunteers with on-going client contact are required to complete a TB skin test. A criminal background check is also required. Children ages 12 and under are required to be accompanied by an adult.
