United Way of the Capital Area is a nonprofit organization that has been meeting human care needs in the 40 towns throughout north central Connecticut for over 75 years. With its network of member agencies, volunteers and community leaders, our United Way takes a leadership role in addressing health and human service issues that face the Hartford region. Through a single community-wide campaign, United Way volunteers raise funds to benefit more than 125 local health and human service agencies. Dollars raised in the campaign are distributed to agencies by experienced volunteers and professionals who research and identify effective programs that address community issues. In addition to our fundraising efforts, United Way also develops special initiatives and collaborations with other community groups to meet high priority human needs. All resources are focused to provide solutions for the most pressing issues in our community.
