The branch serves New Britain, Berlin/Kensington and Plainville. Our sevices include: Disaster Services: Operates 24/7. Consists volunteers and some staff. It is mostly used for local fires when called to do so by the fire department. It can also be deployed nationally or internationally for weather emergencies such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and disasters such as earthquakes, famine-relief and more. Health & Safety: Consists of volunteers and limited staff. Courses are available to the general public for education on First Aid, CPR, Water Safety, Babysitting and more. Some fees may apply. Tranportation: Consists mainly of volunteers. Rides are provided for elderly residents for medical, dental, counseling appointments and for visiting a spouse in a convalescent home and social events. Some fees are involved. Blood Drives: Voluteers are provided as greeters, escorts, observers, and canteen servers to the donors throughout the blood giving process. AFES (Armed Forces Emergency Servies): (Outsourced) In 1905 the ARC was chartered by the U.S. Congress to provide two services: disaster relief and service to members of the U.S. Armed Forces. The ARC relays emergancy communication to the sericeman via a caseworker regarding health & welfare of family members (events such as deaths, births, chronic illnesses). International Tracing Program: Helps to reunite families separated because of disaster, war or other international situations. Safe & Well Website: (www.redcross.org) We provide websites to help the public to prepare for and respond to emergencies such as our "Safe & Well" site. This is an essential part of a Family Communications Plan especially for those living in disaster-prone areas. This is a means of staying in contact with friends & relatives if a disaster strikes.

- Clara's association was created to serve America not only in war, but in peace and during times of disaster and national calamity.
1882-Under U.S. president Grover Cleveland, the U.S. Congress & Senate, the U.S. was the 32nd nation to sign the treaty of Geneva (Geneva Convention) that joined us to the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Movement.
