Hartford Hospital is an 819-bed acute care hospital located in the south end of Hartford, Connecticut. Hartford Hospital, a teaching hospital, is a major tertiary care and community health care center, serving a statewide patient population, providing a wide variety of services. This is a LeadershipService opportunity.
History:
An explosion at a local manufacturing firm led to the establishment of Hartford Hospital in 1854. In its first year, Hartford Hospital treated 20 patients. Now, there are over 32,000 admissions and over 178,000 outpatient and emergency department visits yearly. In 1994, The Institute of Living, a psychiatric hospital founded in 1822, combined with and became the Mental Health Division of Hartford Hospital.
