The mission of the American Lung Association is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. As does our national organization, the American Lung Association of Connecticut focuses on asthma, tobacco control, and environmental issues.
Description:
We have identified asthma, tobacco control, and environmental health as high priority areas of emphasis. Our programs, public education, research support and advocacy are committed to promoting lung health and reducing the burden of lung disease.
History:
We are part of the American Lung Association, the oldest voluntary health agency in the United States, originally formed in 1904 to combat tuberculosis.
