Interns will assist in all levels of planning numerous special events, including dinner auctions, golf tournaments, conferences, our annual walk, golf privilege card and stair climb. Intern will report directly to the Director of Development. Internship will have a flexible schedule so as not to conflict with individual’s school schedule. Candidates should be available to work a minimum of 8-20 hours per week and available for events that occur during that time period. Why intern with the American Lung Association of Connecticut? After an initial screening process, we will tailor an internship to meet your specific needs and availability. This real-life, hands on job experience will boost your resume, increase your self confidence, enhance those skills that you have learned in college, and help prepare you for your first job. There will be opportunities to network with business professionals, doctors, pharmaceutical representatives, teachers, respiratory therapists, board members and donors from all walks of life. Working for a non-profit also adds a dimension that most jobs do not, the benefit of helping others. Set yourself apart from other graduates with an internship that will give you the real world experience that most employers are seeking.

I had a great time volunteering with my friends at ALA's stair climb. For a first time event, they did a great job and boy--can those people climb stairs! posted on May 21, 2008 |
