Friendly Visitor

Friendly Visitors provide companionship and friendship to people who are essentially homebound and otherwise isolated through weekly home visits which last at least an hour. Often Friendly Visitors become a critical link between isolated adults and the community at large. If you enjoy visiting with people, are a good listener, and are willing to commit time to make regular visits and telephone calls and are 18 year of age or older, you may be eligible to become a Friendly Visitor.

Candidates are required to attend an orientation and training session on topics ranging from developing good communication and listening skills to the psychological, social, physical and spiritual aspects of aging.

Travel down Main Street for about one mile.
