History:
Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services was founded by Fr. Daniel Madigan in the basement of his Oak Park church in 1976. Pained by watching so many people, including small children, go hungry in the streets of Sacramento, he called together a cadre of compassionate volunteers to tackle the problem. 2006 is our 30th Year Anniversary. Over those years our organization and services have expanded from Emergency Food Distribution to a family social service organization with 12 different educational and emergency programs dedicated to helping people in crisis.
