The Indiana AIDS Fund is a private philanthropic fundraising and grant-making organization dedicated to supporting HIV prevention and services programs throughout Indiana.
Description:
Our goal is to build long-term alliances between Indiana's philanthropic community and HIV/AIDS education and service providers by engaging community leaders in the fight against AIDS. The Indiana AIDS Fund is jointly convened by The Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis and the Indiana State Department of Health. It shares office space, staff and other resources with The Health Foundation, but the two organizations have separate boards of directors. The 18 members of the Indiana AIDS Fund board of directors, who live throughout the state, oversees the IAF director who takes care of the daily management of the fund. The Indiana AIDS Fund also is a senior partner of the National AIDS Fund
History:
In 1995, the Indiana AIDS Fund became a community partner of the National AIDS Fund, a national organization that provides funds to local AIDS organizations and serves as a leading voice on HIV prevention. Through this partnership, the Indiana AIDS Fund is eligible for matching grants.
The Indiana AIDS Fund began making grants in 1996, and, to date, has granted more than $2 million to more than 60 organizations across Indiana. It has been recognized for funding cutting-edge programs that otherwise would not have received funding from other sources. This high level of commitment, leadership and courage has kept the Indiana AIDS Fund in the forefront in the fight against HIV disease.
