The mission of Breaking Free is to empower individuals, in their own time, to break free from abusive relationships, to provide resources and education for safety, healing and growth, and to promote community awareness to end the cycle of violence.
Description:
Breaking Free, a program of Family Service, supports, educates and advocates for individuals and families affected by family violence and relationship abuse. It works to help women and children who have been in abusive relationships to regain the life to which they are entitled.
History:
Breaking Free was started by three formerly abused women who felt they could help themselves and others by forming a group to discuss and support each other.
