The mission of Family Service is to preserve and strengthen families in times of crisis, change and growth through counseling, education and support.
Description:
The oldest organization of its kind in central Indiana, Family Service has been helping families succeed since 1835. Trained, experienced, compassionate counselors work with families to improve their quality of life and relationships, enabling them to make a positive contribution to their communities. Our services include
- family counseling for the power issues many families face;
- help for families living with domestic violence;
- treatment for families affected by chemical dependency and substance abuse;
- home-based therapy to help parents and children keep a happy home;
- home services for elderly, developmentally disabled and visually impaired adults;
- family empowerment services including help achieving financial stability and small, low-interest loans for items that help parents keep a job or stay in school;
- community education programs;
- "Life Solutions" employee assistance program to help businesses provide assistance to troubled employees.
History:
Family Service was established in 1835 and is the oldest organization of its kind in Central Indiana.
