Amachi in New Brunswick matches the city’s children of incarcerated parent/s with mentors, primarily from faith-based institutions, to foster one-to-one relationships that are at least one hour per week for one year in order to support these children in reaching their highest potential.

Description:
Amachi in New Brunswick is a community-based one-to-one mentoring program. It is being launched by Youth Empowerment Services, a local youth organization, and Senior Corps, RSVP of Middlesex County which is a volunteer organization for seniors. Together, YES and RSVP recruit, train, match, and support mentors.
