Our mission is to provide free diabetes education programs via the Internet to people in need of easy-to-understand and low literacy diabetes self-care information and the diabetes educators who serve them.
Description:
We are an all-volunteer 501(c)(3)non-profit corporation providing the community at large with free diabetes education programs, including, but not limited to:
- easy-to-understand, low literacy, and very low literacy programs for those with poor reading skills, the cognitively impaired and others; and,
- Spanish-language diabetes care programs for those who need diabetes self-care information in Spanish.
History:
Established in 2006, our small charity researches and develops easy-to-understand diabetes education programs that address all of the key areas involved in good diabetes self-care. All of our programs are developed using a team-approach by experienced professionals, including diabetes educators, health literacy specialists, medical writers, artists, and certified Spanish-language translators.
