Quixote Quests engages teens into consistent and meaningful community service, and encourages a life-ling commitment to volunteerism and philanthropy.
Description:
Quixote Quest is an organization that helps teens to connect to consistent and meaningful volunteer service in their area. Structured as a Volunteer Club, the teens come together from different high schools to support and celebrate the commitment that their fellow club members have made to make a difference. The teens each volunteer weekly for two hours at a cause that interests them. QQ helps to place them at volunteer sites that respect the value of youth volunteerism. QQ is like a college community service fraternity/sorority. These dedicated teens raise the bar setting a higher standard for youth service.
History:
QQ started in 2002 in the aftermath of 9/11 in response to the President's call that citizens become more involved in helping others. Each year since 9/11 QQ has opened a new club. There are now six...five in South Jersey and the newest, a sixth club in Mercer County (Hamilton based).
