CROP Hungers Walks in New Jersey, established 1973, raise awareness about hunger, poverty, and water issues. The events annually raise funds which support local hunger addressing agencies and the sustainable self-help projects of partners of CWS/CROP.
Description:
The CROP events are entirely managed by volunteers in communities throughout the state who represent many faith and social action groups. Every year, an average of $230,000 is given to New Jersey Hunger related agencies. Most events are scheduled near to World Food Day. History:
Founded in 1946, Church World Service is a cooperative ministry of 35 Protestant,Orthodox and Anglican denominations providing sustainable,self-help and development, disaster relief,and refugee assistance in some 80 countries. Our partners, who are not neccesarily Christian, facilitate our ability to respond to any disaster and emergency situation throughout the world.
