Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter is a non-profit animal welfare organization that is 100% privately funded. Our mission is threefold:
- To provide exceptional care for homeless animals
- To promote spaying/neutering, microchipping and humane education
- To place homeless cats and dogs in permanent, loving homes.
At Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, no animal is ever euthanized for lack of space.
Description:
The Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter’s beginnings are rooted deep in volunteerism. Born out of a concern for the state of animal welfare in their community, individuals such as yourself embraced the plight of homeless animals and took matters into their own hands. With heart and determination, they banded together and formed the Wessex Animal Welfare League. Thirty-five years later, MPAS still relies on the kindness and dedication of caring individuals. Our goals are still relevant to that same spirit of 35 years ago—to provide a place of shelter, quality care and compassion until a permanent, responsible and loving home can be obtained for each and every animal that passes through our doors. We at MPAS hope that your involvement in our mission proves to be both an enriching and enjoyable experience you and our Shelter residents. Because of the hard work and compassion of our volunteers, 98% of all the animals that passed through our doors last year were adopted into loving and responsible families. The staff at Mt. Pleasant welcomes anyone passionate about helping homeless animals.
