To provide non-perishable supplemental food to eligible Morris County residents, to provide hands on opportunities for neighbors to help neighbors, and to raise awareness about the issues of hunger in our community.
Description:
The Interfaith Food Pantry is a non-denominational non-profit organization helping families make ends meet by supplementing their monthly groceries in times of need. Pantry hours are Tues, Wed, & Thurs 9:30 to noon, Thurs 1:00 to 3:00. Location of Pantry is at 190 Speedwell Avenue, next door to the Motor Vehicle Center. Hours at the warehouse on W. Hanover for food distribution are 10:00 - 12:00 on the 1st four Saturdays of every month and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. All new clients should call the office for specific information. For food drop off, tours & visitors the warehouse is open M - Th 9:00 - 4:30 pm.
History:
Established in 1994, the Interfaith Food Pantry was formed when a group from four local houses of worship decided to address the growing issue of hunger by consolidating their food assistance programs. The objective was to create a central collection and distribution center in Morristown. We now serve all of Morris County.
