Description:
The Morris County Office of Temporary Assistance is the County Welfare Agency charged with the administration of federal assistance programs. The agency consists of two main components; Income Maintenance and Social Service. The Income Maintenance Unit administers the financial assistance programs offered by the agency. The Social Service Unit provides social services support to eligible individuals necessary to rectify an identified problem with housing, mental health, or other personal problems which prevent them from functioning self-sufficiently in the community. Help is also available through the Social Service Unit with medical needs such as the purchase of prescription medication and medical transportation. The Service Unit maintains a Food Pantry that provides food on an emergency basis for those in need.
