Description:
Since 1949, The Arc of Union County has been dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families throughout the county. The agency serves over 850 individuals and families throughout the county. We provide training and support for individuals in community-based jobs, job training, school-to-career transition services to school districts and other work opportunities. The Arc of Union County maintains residential programs and supervised apartments. We provide nurses, behavior specialists, physical therapists, speech pathologists and nutritionists in home, residential, school and day program settings. We have programs serving individuals with challenging behaviors, autism and other multiple disabilities in an environment designed to meet individual needs. Our Adult Medical Day Care Program serves persons with developmental disabilities who also have various medical conditions requiring nursing supervision. Our Community Affairs outreach consists of a local, statewide and national membership program, public relations, fundraising and resource development activities.
