NEADS, the National Education for Assistance Dog Services, Inc. is a non profit organization established to provide Hearing and Service Dogs for people who are deaf or who use wheelchairs. These Assistance Dogs become an extension of their owners and bring security, freedom, independence and relief from social isolation to their human partners.
Description:
NEADS raises and trains Assistance Dogs for people who are deaf or physically disabled. We train Hearing Dogs, Service Dogs, Specialty Dogs, and Social Dogs. The dogs are placed with adults and children throughout the United States. Our Princeton campus houses a kennel, and the puppies' Early Learning Center.
History:
NEADS began in 1976 as the Hearing Ear Dog Program providing Hearing Dogs for people who are deaf. Since then, NEADS has graduated over 800 Assistance Dog teams to people who are deaf and physically disabled.
