We envision a community where people independently support themselves and their families, and where individuals are safe from abuse and neglect. We will assist people in economic need, protect children and vulnerable adults and promote the safety and well-being of the citizens of Talbot County.
Description:
Talbot County Department of Social Services consists of 6 units encompassing Child Support, Child Welfare, Adult Services, Income Support, Workforce Support, Administration and the 28 programs within the units. Our volunteers enjoy assignments that match their schedules and areas of interest, use of state vehicles for duties, invitations to some staff trainings, and volunteer social events and recognitions. To become a volunteer you will complete an application, interview, consent to background checks, attend orientation and meet with a staff member to begin your assignment. Current volunteer opportunities include driving customers to appointments, job search help, mentoring, tutoring, event assistance and others
