Carroll Child Care Center, Inc. serves families of all income levels by offering a healthy environment in which children can discover, learn and grow.

Description:
Carroll Child Care Center serves child from ages 6 weeks to 10 years of age by providing a safe healthy environment, nutritious meals and a quality pre-k education. We provide equal access to these services to poor and low-income families through accepting POC vouchers and offering a sliding scale tuition program. More than 60% of our families are single parent mothers who need support to remain in the workplace. CCCC also offers parenting seminars to help parents learn to discipline their children in positive ways and to become their child's first teacher and serve nutritious meals at home. Because CCCC has long-term contact with our young students we can teach them the skills necessary to be successful in school and life beyond school.

History:
Carroll Child Care Center was formed in 1969 when a group of visionary women went to Annapolis to recommended changes in the laws that governed children in the care of others. These local women helped enact the current laws that govern child care centers and also created Carroll Child Care Center. They believed that all children, regardless of family income or social status deserved a quality pre-k education. They also believed that most poor parents desired to work and support their families but were unable to do so without safe affordable care. In 2009, CCCC will have served Carroll County families for 40 years, enabling motivated poor parents to work and giving their children the encouragement, good nutrition and pre-k education they need to be successful in school.
