Our mission is to preserve and revitalize houses, assuring that low-income homeowners, particularly those who are elderly, and/or disabled and families with children, live in warmth, safety and independence.
Description:
Rebuilding Together Howard County is committed to helping Howard County, Maryland residents, who have worked hard to own their own homes, remain in their homes by providing repairs and modifications that will make their home more accessible and safer – at no cost to the homeowner. Repair work is accomplished primarily on an annual Rebuild Day, held on the last Saturday of April. Volunteers provide funding to cover the material cost of house repairs and approximately 20-30 volunteers per house.
History:
Rebuilding Together was started in Texas in 1988 and today it has over 250 chapters. The Rebuilding Together Howard County chapter has been in existence since 1992 and has repaired over 500 homes with the help of over 100,000 volunteers.
