The mission of Jeremiah Housing, Inc., is to provide quality, affordable housing and supportive services to frail elderly persons with limited financial resources. Our goal is to provide the highest caliber of care and services to this under-served population in an effort to improve their quality of life.
Description:
Jeremiah Housing, Inc. acquires and rehabilitates single family homes in various communities around Baltimore making it accessible for frail elderly persons. To keep our services affordable, we depend upon contributions from agencies, organizations and individuals.
History:
Jeremiah Housing, Inc., was founded by Carolyn Peoples in 1999. Her experience in the field of the aging spans more than 25 years. She has worked in senior housing and property management for Catholic Charities, the Presbytery of Baltimore, and the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development. Jeremiah Housing is a faith-based, nonprofit organization--we are dedicated to meeting the economic, social, health and spiritual needs of our residents. We operate two homes in Baltimore City and are currently serving approximately 16 elderly persons.
