The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County serves as a community clearinghouse for volunteerism, making it easy for community members, groups, families, and businesses to connect to the needs of non-profit and governmental organizations in and around our community.

The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County provides a range of services and programs for community members and for our 230 registered non-profit and governmental agencies. An online calendar and keyword search at www.volunteerhoward.org will help connect you with local volunteer opportunities! Publications include Volunteer Opportunities for Youth, Holiday Gift Guide, and the Guide to Mentoring. Registered volunteers receive ongoing communications from the VCSHC based upon their interests and skills - registration is free and available online at www.volunteerhoward.org. Other programs include Camp Make a Difference, the Disaster Volunteer initiative, volunteer orientations, and consultations with individuals, groups, or businesses interested in volunteering.
History:
The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County opened its doors in 2001 through a collaboration among the Association of Community Services, the Howard County Association of Volunteer Administrators, the Columbia Association, The Columbia Foundation, The Horizon Foundation, and the United Way Community partnerships of Howard County.
