Our Mission is to provide counseling and support services to those affected by sexual assault and to eliminate sexual violence in Carroll County through education and advocacy.
Description:
Our Agency provides crisis counseling both during office hours and through our 24 hour hotline and scheduled therapy sessions are also available. Our clients are anyone ages 12 and older affected by sexual assault including family and friends of sexual assault victims. We offer education programs to the public and county schools. RCIS Sexual Trauma Advocate & Resource (STAR) volunteers are thoroughly trained by RCIS and serve on the 24 hour hotline.
History:
Our Agency was established in 1978. We receive funding from the Maryland State Department of Human Resources, the U.S. Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime, Carroll County Government and the United Way of Central Maryland. Clients make contributions when possible and RCIS also hosts fundraisers throughout the year.
