Mission Statement
The mission of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.

Our Vision for the Future
At MADD Oakland County we imagine a county where our residents all understand the responsibility of planning ahead when alcohol is in their plans for a safe ride home. We see a future in which all children from elementary school level through college growing up with the information needed to understand the dangers of alcohol and drinking and driving. MADD Oakland dreams of a day when all 43 of our law enforcement agencies are well equipped to do their job in freeing our roads of impaired drivers. We imagine a phone that no longer rings to tell us of yet another alcohol related tragedy. But, until that time we still need to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.

Description:
The Solution
Victim Services
We serve an average of 80 families per year through support groups, victim advocates, and court assistance.

Public Awareness
We Distribute 100,000 red ribbons a year, conduct 5 monthly Victim Impact Panels reaching over 5,000 drunk driving offenders each year, and our volunteers hand out literature at safety fairs and parades.

Youth
We conduct two minor in possession programs each month to reach troubled teens, present our multi-media program to high schools throughout our community, we coordinate a Youth in Action Team and are introducing the Protecting You/Protecting Me Curriculum into Elementary Schools.
