It is our mission to make surplus and recycled medical supplies, durable medical equipment and related items available to needy populations around the world. SRW endeavors to improve the health and quality of life of its recipients and to empower them to live with increased dignity, independence and hope.
Description:
We do this through three areas, medical missions, shipping containers of medical supplies and operating a recycled wheelchair project. SRW's impact on the world is mutli-faceted. Our medical missions bing hands on love and care, touching lives in a personal way and enabling American medical professionals to benefit children and families everywhere. Through shipments, we provide a way to share America's plenty with our neighbors in other countries. Our wheelchair missions bring mobility to the lives of many.
History:
SRW was founded on January 1, 2002 by two nurses Lisa Fernandez and Mary Dowling. Since SRW's founding 10 medical/surgical missions have served needy communities in other countries, 5 wheelchair missions have brought mobility into the lives of more than 1,000 disabled people, 90 shipments of medical supplies have left the SRW loading dock.
