Glendale Elementary - Safe Haven Program is seeking volunteers to work one-on-one with students in the subjects of math and literacy. Volunteers receive excellent support and resources from the volunteer coordinator, as well as the after school staff. Come share your creativity and knowledge--your time and support is greatly appreciated by the students and Glendale staff!!
Description:
The Glendale Elementary Safe Haven program provides an after school program for K-5 students every day of the week. The program offers math and reading enrichment as well as other activities including art, science, community, nutrition, sports, structured games, playtime, and field trips.
History:
Glendale Elementary School is unique! Glendale houses the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program for the Madison School District, has a transitional bilingual program, and has multi-age classrooms. Glendale is also unique in its needs--Glendale has the highest low income percentage in the Madison School District, one of the highest percentage of students with special needs, as well as students whose first language is not English.
