The founding principles or purposes of Delta Theta Sigma are outlined in the Preamble of the Constitution.
- Fellowship and lifelong friendships fostered through brotherhood.
- Promoting the field of agriculture and enhancing the prestige of our profession.
- Development or improvement of our social graces; including manners, etiquette, health, dress and good taste.
- Excellence in scholarship.
- Moral and spiritual development of the individual.
- Appreciation or desire for cultural improvement, such as music, literature, dramatics, debate, speaking and writing and national affairs.
