The Madison Metro Jaycees provides community service and individual development opportunities. We create and run a variety of projects that are fun and enjoyable. These projects allow people to interact and form new friendships, while improving communities and building leadership skills.

Description:
The Madison Metro Jaycees is the local chapter of the Junior Chamber of Commerce (J.C.I.), an international organization whose mission is to contribute to the advancement of the global community by providing the opportunity for young people to develop the leadership skills, social responsibility, entrepreneurship and fellowship necessary to create positive change.

The Madison Metro Jaycees creates and runs several community service events throughout the year. These include a Haunted House in Olin Park with proceeds going to local charities, and Clothe-a-Child, where we take children from a local shelter clothes shopping. We also volunteer our time for local organizations, including the Salvation Army and UW Arboretum, and help out with local events such as the Madison Marathon and Elver Park fireworks. In addition, we have several projects throughout the year to help us raise money for our events. These include installing and removing chair-backs for season ticket holders at Camp Randall stadium, and playing basketball against the Green Bay Packers.

Our member meetings are at 7 pm on the first Thursday of every month. Please contact us to find out the location for the next meeting. You don't have to be a member or attend the meetings in order to volunteer for our various activities, which will be posted on this site.

History:
J.C.I. was founded in Mexico City on December 11, 1944, when representatives from eight nations met to create an organization that would address global concerns.
