Description:
Volunteers play a major role in every activity or program planned by the Friends of Dane County Farmers' Market. They assist with School on the Square, activities for children and seniors, the Friends' fundraisers and the Taste of the Market Breakfasts at the Dane County Farmers' Market winter markets.

History:
The parent orgaization--Dane County Farmers' Market--is 35 years old while the Friends of Dane County Farmers' Market was founded in 2002. Friends projects began in the summer of 2003 with food tastings and children's food related activities on the Capitol Square. School on the Square began in 2004 and expanded the activities to include Meet the Farmer sessions where Market vendors are School program presenters. During the winter, Friends moved indoors with the Market to offer organization and membership information, hold fundraising activities and participate in the Taste of the Market Breakfasts.
