The Mission of the Aldo Leopold Nature Center is to teach a love and respect for the land in the spirit of famed Wisconsin conservationist Aldo Leopold. We reach thousands of school children, teachers and families each year.

Description:
The Aldo Leopold Nature Center operates two locations. In Monona: Interpretive trails lead visitors through prairies, wetlands, and woodlands. Visitors have access to trails through approximately 94 acres of adjacent City conservation park land. Trails are open from sun up to sundown. In Black Earth: Hiking trails traverse hills, valleys and rocky outcroppings at this 38-acre wooded site. The Leopold Lodge and Alexander Studio offer a perfect retreat from the stresses of the everyday world. The site is open by appointment only.

History:
The Aldo Leopold Nature Center was established in 1994 as an independent not-for-profit organization.
