Literacy Network is dedicated to improving the lives of adults in Dane County through literacy.
Description:
Literacy Network provides many learner-centered literacy services to help adults achieve their life goals through literacy. This is accomplished through one-to-one tutoring of reading, writing, and English speaking skills; ESL classes; and our First Step Learning Lab.
Literacy Network helps about 1,100 learners every year achieve life goals through literacy, such as:
*Reading to children
*Reading a newspaper
*Describing illnesses to doctors
*Talking to their child's teacher
*Filling out job applications
*Developing a resume
*Entering training programs
*Improving basic skills to move into a GED program
History:
Since 1973, Literacy Network has been serving the needs of the Dane County community. Through the generosity of Literacy Network's donors and volunteers, we have been able to continue growing and adding programs to better serve our community.
