Our mission is to advocate for the well-being of children in child care and to assist their parents, and the providers who care for their children, in creating quality child care.
Description:
Community Coordinated Child Care is a child care resource and referral agency with four programs. Family Child Care Certification assists Dane County family child care providers to meet state-established standards for voluntary regulation. Professional Development/Training offers continuing education, a resource room lending library, and technical assistance. Child Care Resource and Referral helps more than 4000 parents annually to locate regulated child care, and provides assistance with other child care related questions. The Child and Adult Care Food Program reimburses 700+ family child care providers each month for nutritious meals fed to their day care children.
History:
After three years of work by a group of determined visionaries, Community Coordinated Child Care was incorporated in 1971. Goals were established: to collect and analyze child care data; to develop programs, training, and related services to improve the quality of child care; and to bring together agencies to promote improvement in services to children.
