Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison, Inc. (RMHC-Madison) is dedicated to advancing the well-being and health of children. By providing temporary lodging and services for families whose children are undergoing treatment at local health care facilities and by supporting the delivery of dental and medical services on the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile in south central Wisconsin and northern Illinois, RMHC-Madison endeavors to enhance the lives of children and to lessen the burdens of their families.

Description:
The Ronald McDonald House is located at 2716 Marshall Court on Madison's near-west side. Families who stay at the House contribute a $10 fee per night when able.

Up to 18 families can stay at the House at a time. Families are referred to the Ronald McDonald House from Madison hospitals and health care facilities.

The House provides many common areas: a large living room, play and game rooms, outdoor play area, quiet sitting rooms, family library, computer room with internet access, exercise room, and laundry room. A House van transports families to and from Madison hospitals and clinics and assists families with needed errands.

Families

The House serves families from throughout the Midwest, states beyond the region as well as families from other countries.
Families from 46 states and 14 countries have stayed at the House.
Family visits range from one night to more than 200 nights.

History:
The Ronald McDonald House opened it's doors on May 23, 1993, and the first family checked in on May 28, 1993. The community raised over $2 million to open the House debt-free. RMHC-Madison also reaches beyond the walls of the House with the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. On January 14, 2003, RMHC-Madison launched the world's 12th Care Mobile. The Care Mobile provides cost-free dental and medical care to kids in south central Wisconsin and northern Illinois who would otherwise not receive care.

Donations of money, materials, time and the ongoing support of volunteers are essential to the future of our mission. It is only through community support that RMHC-Madison can continue to help kids heal and keep kids healthy.
