The mission of the Department of Volunteer Services at Capitol Lakes Retirement Services is built upon a strong base of community support. The future of Capitol Lakes rests upon continued leadership and active involvement of people from our community.

The purpose of the Department of Volunteer Services is: (1) To encourage a broad base of community participation in Capitol Lakes volunteer programs in order to strengthen the bond between Capitol Lakes and the community. (2)To provide attractive opportunities for people to work in positions which enhance their skills and fulfill their needs for personal development. (3) To create an environment that welcomes students and provides opportunities for them to experience and explore hospital and health careers. (4) To assist in the development and implementation of new programs which support quality, customer-oriented care.

Description:
Capitol Lakes (CL) exists to meet the retirement living needs and to enhance the quality of life of our residents through the provisions of personalized services. CL is a member of a comprehensive health care system. Its' role as a service provider to older adults and caregivers of older adults is enhanced by its association with Pacific Retirement Services. Volunteer Service at Capitol Lakes located at 333 West Main Street just three blocks from the square.

History:
Capitol Lakes is located downtown and has existed for over 28 years. We have four different buildings, each having a different level of care associated with them. Our oldest building is called "Capitol Lakes Heights" (which is consider our independent living building), Our nursing home is called "Capitol Lakes Health Care Center", the assisted living building is called "Capitol Lakes Terraces" and the newest addition is "Capitol Lakes Main Gate" which is an additional independent living building.
