Northwest Dane Senior Services, Inc. support and assist seniors and their families by providing programs and services that promote well-being, independence and involvement in their community. We serve older adults in the following rural neighboring towns and villages: Black Earth Cross Plains Mazomanie Roxbury Vermont Berry

The following programs and services are offered through Northwest Dane Senior Services(NWDSS), Inc..
Mobile Meal Program
These meals are prepared by the Mazo Deli and are available Monday through Friday with an extra meal available for Saturday, to home bound seniors. Mobile Meals are hot,nutritious noon meals delivered by RSVP volunteers. Contact NWDSS office for availability and costs.
Congregate Nutrition Site
Delicious noon meals offered Monday through Friday by the Mazo Deli, at the Connection Room in the NWDSS Offices in Black Earth. This nutrition program also provides education and information, and serves over 4,000 meals to seniors every year. Contact NWDSS office for particulars and costs.
Supportive Home Chore
The Supportive Home Chore program provides services to individuals who require assistance to remain living in their own homes or apartments. These services may include; light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, personal care, lawn care and in-home respite. Contact NWDSS office for costs.
Rural Respite
This enjoyable half- day, social program is designed specifically for older adults with memory loss or those with other diagnoses that require a structured activity program. A respite program is offered in Mazomanie, providing a scheduled break for caregiving families. Contact NWDSS office and talk with case manager for more information.
Case Management Services
As the only senior service provider in northwestern Dane county, the Case Manager advocates for the client to ensure they receive the assistance they require to remain living at home and in their community. The Case Managers may offer short term or ongoing assistance by; helping sort through complicated paperwork (insurance, financial or medical), arranging transportation, or making appropriate recommendations and referrals to other community providers. Case Managers offer necessary assistance that enhances the lives of seniors, preventing premature placement in a facility. Contact NWDSS office and talk with the Case Manager.
Foot Care Clinic
Pedicure services and blood pressure screening offered by a nurse monthly on the third Tuesday of the month. Please contact the NWDSS office for an appointment and costs.
RSVP Driver Escort
Transportation service for seniors providing both local rides and trips to Madison. A donation is requested to RSVP of Dane County per ride received.
Group Transportation
Bus transportation is available for area seniors to get them to Madison shopping two times a month. Rides are available daily to the nutrition site. Weekly there are trips to area communities for grocery shopping. Please contact the NWDSS office for current schedule and donation costs.
Activity Center
This program offers seniors a place for fun, laughter, and friendship. Euchre, bingo, potluck luncheons, movies, trips and holiday parties are just a few of the exciting events held at the Activity Center. A calendar, listing the various activities is included in our monthly newsletter.
Caregiver's Journey Group
The purpose of the Caregiver's Journey group is to learn new information, share ideas and support one another. The group is open to anyone who is a caregiver, family, or friend of an older person. Transportation and respite are available. The Caregiver's Journey group meets the first Tuesday of the month. Questions about the group, please call NWDSS office and speak with the case manager.
History:
Northwest Dane Senior Services, Inc has been providing services to older adults in the nine municipality area of northwestern Dane county for over 30 years. We are a trusted agency to provide many services to older adults to allow them independence and involvement in the community. Which delays premature placement into a facility.
