Home Health United's Mission -- People helping people make choices that achieve their optimal independence and quality of life -- encompasses all of the comprehensive programs HHU offers. Our primary goal is to keep people in their homes. To that end we offer a comprehensive line of programs to help older adults and physically disabled individuals of all ages. One programs that helps us achieve our mission, and for which we need many dedicated, caring volunteers, is Meals on Wheels. The volunteers in this program could be described as a friendly life line for the meal recipients who are delivered a nutritious mid-day meal daily. All volunteers in some way help the people of our agency help people in the community realize their desire to be as independent as they can possibly be.

Description:
Home Health United offers integrated and comprehensive services. We are dedicated to helping people remain independent by offering a variety of services in the privacy and comfort of including Nursing care, Physical,Occupational and Speech therapy, Medical Social Services,Home Health Aides,Companion Caregivers, Meals On Wheels, IV therapy, Respiratory Therapy and Home Medical Equipment and Supplies. Each year we also have a Flu Program that provides flu shots at convenient public and corporate locations.

History:
Home Health United celebrated it's 20th Anniversary in 2006. In 1999, HHU merged with an agency with an even longer history, Visiting Nurse Service. One of its most enduring programs is Meals on Wheels, which has been serving hot, nutritious meals 365 days a year for over 35 years. It is our largest volunteer program and one for which we are always recruiting dedicated, caring volunteers. We currently have four convenient pick up locations in Madison. Meals are prepared by Hoffman House and delivered to our four pick up sites between 11 a.m. and noon each day. Our program wouldn't be possible without our many dedicated volunteers. In addition to individual volunteers, we have a corporate volunteer program and many churches, synagogues and service organizations who participate. Volunteering times can be arranged to meet your needs. In addition to Meals On Wheels volunteers, during flu immunization season we need volunteers to help in our offices and at public flu clinics throughout Dane County. We can also use volunteers in our corporate offices on the east and west side of Madison.
