The Triangle Community Ministry, Inc. is an ecumenical presence which, in ministry with the residents of the Triangle Neighborhood, provides a holistic (mind, body, and spirit)response to community as well as individual needs through programming of wellness, dignity, education and spiritual support.
Description:
The Triangle Community Ministry supports the holistic health of triangle residents by providing services and volunteers to residents. Volunteers play a vital role in increasing residents' independence and improving their quality of life through visiting, building relationships and providing home help. There are a great variety of volunteer opportunities available to fit your needs and interests. A very grateful resident is waiting for your offer.
History:
The Triangle Community Ministry was established in 1978 by an ecumenical group in response to urban renewal of the "Bush" (area bounded by Park St., W. Washington, and Regent St.)which resulted in the loss of three houses of worship and the erection of four public housing projects, 102 townhouses (Bayview Foundation), and a private nursing home. The Triangle is now home to approximately 900 people, primarily with special needs. The Triangle Community Ministry continues to respond to the needs of this population.
