Description:
Project Home assists home-owners, renters, individuals, families, and elderly by improving their housing.

We provide low or no-cost minor home repair, major home repair, weatherization services, and accessibility modifications in Dane and Green Counties, and affordable apartment housing in Dane County.

We partner with construction companies and corporate sponsors to host Hammer with a Heart and Paint-a-thon. We also partner with the Steamfitters Union to provide Heat's On to provide important furnace maintenance. These annual volunteer events serve hundreds of lower-income families who wouldn't be able to afford these services on their own.

History:
Project Home was started in 1970 to provide home repair to low-income senior citizens and persons with disabilities, through volunteer efforts. Originally, program funding came in the form of a small grant from Madison Urban Ministries. During our first year of operation, approximately 150 people in the City of Madison benefited from our volunteer services.

Today, Project Home serves over 1,000 households each year through weatherization, and 250 through home repair. We have 45 full-time employees. You likely see our white trucks and vans in many towns providing weatherization and home repair.
