The American Association of University Women promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education and positive societal change.

Description:
The activities which satisfy the above mission statement vary depending on the local branch's choices. Our branch lobbies legislators in support of national and state public policy issues and provides support for UW-Madison scholarships and scholarships from the AAUW Educational Foundation. We also provide financial support to AAUW's Legal Advocacy Fund which helps women with lawsuits against discrimination.

History:
Madison Branch AAUW was the second branch founded in Wisconsin in 1921. Over the years the branch has been extremely active in support of the mission. We are currently looking for new members as well as volunteers for a specific activity - a one-day workshop we co-sponsor with the Girl Scouts of Black Hawk Council, Inc.
