YMCA Mission: The YMCA of Dane County, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization responding to the needs of families in Dane County by providing quality programs which embody values that emphasize healthy life-styles for the spirit, mind and body.
Description: The YMCA of Dane County utilizes over 800 volunteers to run activities in various programs throughout the community. Volunteers have the opportunity to be coaches, chaperones, mentors and role models. Individual volunteer opportunities are available in adaptive recreation/Special Olympics, aquatics, fitness, member services, nursery/child care, teens, youth sports. Group opportunities are also available through participation in YMCA family events that are offered throughout the year. Through various YMCA experiences, staff and volunteers emphasize the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

The YMCA of Dane County has three location in the Madison area (East, West and Sun Prairie).
The East YMCA is located on the near east side of Madison (711 Cottage Grove Road). From Hwy 51/Stoughton Road exit at Cottage Grove Road and turn west onto Cottage Grove Road (heading toward Lake Monona). The East YMCA is directly on your left on the corner of Claire Street and Cottage Grove Road.
The West YMCA is located on the near west side of Madison (5515 Medical Circle). Exit Beltline Hwy at Whitney Way and turn north onto Whitney Way. The West YMCA can be seen from the Beltline and will be on your left. Turn left onto Odana Road - you will drive for 3-4 blocks - turn left onto Medical Circle. Follow Medical Circle and West YMCA entrance will be on your right.
The Sun Prairie YMCA is located 10 minutes past Madison's far east side (160 South Street, Sun Prairie, WI 53590). Take Hwy 151 heading east (out of Madison). Take first Sun Prairie exit (Main Street) and continue on Main Street for approximately 1.5 miles. The Sun Prairie YMCA is located right next to the Sun Prairie High School. Turn right onto Kroncke Drive. The YMCA will be on left and is located in the old Sun Prairie Middle School.
