(UASW) was formerly known as United Refugee Services of WI, Inc. UASW provides employment services for refugees and asylees, we assist with housing issues, programming for youth to support educational attainment and develop youth leadership; we provide ESL, Drivers Education (learning permit) classes and ESL Civics class in collaboration with Literacy Network and MATC; we assist in resolving INS issues and provide citizenship tutoring; we operate a food pantry and a weekly evening meal for SEA seniors.

History:
Since its founding in 1984, UASW continues to provide a range of assistance, primarily to local Hmong, Lao and Cambodian as well as Somalian, Ethiopian, Sudan, Burma and Kosovar community members. UASW bilingual, multicultural staff assist participants through a comprehensive array of programs to address their needs, from finding housing and employment, accessing area supportive services, and improving their language and job skills, to providing support for youth and seniors.
