To provide a range of individualized, goal-oriented, comprehensive, coordinated and culturally normative rehabilitation, habilitation and vocational service choices for persons who have barriers to employment, social interaction and independent living.
Description:
The name Focuscorp was selected to ensure that the organization would always "focus on the individual" and the individual would, thereby, be the "focal point" of the company's existence. Through the use of Personalized Program Plans, participants in Focuscorp's programs participate in and have control over the services and supports they receive. Examples of services available include the following: Vocational Training, Daily Living Skill Training, Community Integration, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Horticultural Therapy, Recreation/Leisure Skill Training, Money Management Training, Job Development, Job Placement, Job Coaching, Vocational Assessment, Transportation Services, Sensory Integration, Exercise Activities, Work Adjustment, and Supported Employment.
History:
Focuscorp, Inc. was founded in 1992. The first program developed by Focuscorp provided vocational, educational and therapeutic services, as well as daily living, social interaction and community integration skill building to individuals with severe/profound and multiple cognitive and physical disabilities residing at Central Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled (CWC). Focuscorp has since expanded its program options to include participants who have other barriers to employment or community integration, such as physical disabilities, language barriers, socio-economic limitations, criminal history, mental health issues and at-risk students. Programs are provided in community settings throughout Dane County, as well as at the company work-site where sub-contracted light industrial and production/mailing services are available.
