The mission of VSA arts of Wisconsin is to expand the capabilities, confidence and quality of life for children and adults with disabilities by providing programs in dance, drama, creative writing, music and visual art.
Description:
VSA conducts arts programming for people, primarily with disabilities. Current focus areas and programs include:
- Educational Programs -- Artist Residencies, Choirs, Classes and Workshops
- Professional Development And Technical Assistance -- Art for Sale, Disability Awareness Training
- Cultural Access And Inclusive Art Services -- Building the audience capacity of cultural venues through programming partnerships
- Public Awareness And Outreach -- Children?s and Adult Art Exhibits, Newsletter & Website, and VSA Day at Camp Randall
History:
VSA arts of Wisconsin incorporated as a nonprofit in 1985. VSA programs, events and exhibits reach more than one quarter million people annually as the organization continues to expand opportunities in the arts for people with disabilities. VSA arts of Wisconsin is a member of the international network of VSA arts, an affiliate of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
